Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  We are so excited to begin this new year with our largest group of students, parents, and staff ever!  As the Principal of our Goodnight Pre K-8 School, I am honored to serve such an esteemed group of students, teachers, staff, parents and community members. Goodnight is well-known for its high expectations for students, tremendous teacher commitment and incredible parent support.  Although Goodnight is a very large school, we are proud of the family atmosphere that has developed within our doors.

At Goodnight, we believe that there are no excuses when it comes to learning. We can't afford them if we want our children to compete when measured against state, national and international standards of academic performance. The new Colorado Academic Standards require our teachers to teach fewer, but deeper, standards.  This means that students are going to be expected to demonstrate greater cognitive complexity (Depth of Knowledge).  In order to meet our school's goals and provide the best education possible for our students, we must work as a team with all parents.

Therefore, we plead to all parents to be actively involved in your child's education by ensuring regular attendance at school and by providing your child with an appropriate environment in which to complete his/her school work.  Also, we hope that you develop a partnership with your child's teacher by problem solving and collaborating in the best interest of your child.

It is an exciting time in the Pueblo City Schools. Let us make this the most productive year yet for our children by working together as a collaborative team!

Sincerely,
